Volunteer trailbuilders and merrymakers. Join us, won’t you?
Most importantly, CITA is volunteer-led; our capacity is defined largely by our board, members and volunteers – individuals and organizations who want to create quality outdoor experiences and, especially, value singletrack.
There are many ways you can support this work. Consider taking a leadership position, making a donation or enjoying the expanding value of membership today.
December 5, 2014:
Hey, remember us? Remember the plan to add, and improve existing, trail at Greenwood Park (Center)? We’ve got the details now and are ready to make the fundraising push. The total cost will be around $40,000. The Friends of DSM Parks has committed $15,000 and CITA has contributed $5,000 so far. If (when) we raise another $5,000 the DSM Parks Dept will fund the remainder. Construction will start in the spring and we should be enjoying this goodness by June (or sooner).
The plan calls for approx 2 miles of new trail, most of it winding through ravines just south of the Art Center. This is terrific rolling terrain. Rollercoaster will be rerouted and extended. Big bridges will span deep ravines, the end gets big bermed corners. There will be new trailheads and signage and some badly eroded sections will be closed. Construction will be 100% professional, with volunteers only needed for some of the closure work. This will allow us to still give plenty of volunteer time to our other trails.
CITA is covered under IMBAs 501c3 designation so all of your contributions will be tax deductible.
Be generous if you can, your gift will give joy directly back to you and so many other dirt trail lovers.
We can do this people, but it takes a village.
