Dirty Duathlon at Center Trails – 2013

dirty duathlon

Join CITA for a great day of mountain biking, trail running and hanging with the funnest people around at our Center Trails. Grab the family, grab your friends, politely escort them down to Greenwood Park and then apologize for grabbing them. But they will thank you because there’s something for everyone! Rock the Du on your own or partner up (1 runner, 1 cyclist) if you’re skeered to tackle the whole thing alone. And of course, we ALWAYS need help from our fellow trail lovers and have many rewarding positions available such as registration, trail sweeper (scooping those up that don’t, uh…make it), set up, take down, assist timing, herd cats and organize the cowbell choir amongst others. Let us know if you can help and we’ll put you to work, tout suite! Your conscience, your friends and the trails will thank you.

Here are the basics…

8.00am Reg opens

9.00am Trail Run 4mi

11.00am Sprint Du 2mi run / 4mi bike

12.00pm Kids Du run/bike around the pond (FREE!)

1.00pm Dirty Du (relay or individual) 2mi/10mi/2mi

$25 pre-registration, $35 day offor each event except for Kids Du

For teams have each person do an individual entry.

Subaru-IMBA Trail Care Crew: Des Moines, IA

subaruThe Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew, on the road since 1997, is IMBA’s grassroots educational program and an authority on sustainable trail building practices. Two teams of professional trail experts travel year-round throughout the United States and beyond, leading trail work sessions, meeting with land managers and working with IMBA-affiliated clubs and the communities they serve to improve mountain biking opportunities. The Trail Care Crew program has inspired great volunteer trail work across the U.S. and abroad – a big help to government agencies and land managers who have limited funding for trail construction and upkeep. As a direct result, there are now thousands of new and improved trails in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and several European countries.
